Sandals Bahamas review is a tough one since the resort itself is so large that there are several points to cover. Accommodation

The higher category villas and suites have the luxury of their own private butler who will cater to all their needs, though these are also quite expensive. The rooms are all beautifully decorated, even the basic category rooms. The decor of the rooms is Caribbean flavor with elegant furnishings.

Dining out

There are plenty of different options to choose from when it comes to dining in the Sandals resort. The Baccarat restaurant in the resort is headed by an award winning chef and provides intimate setting for candlelit dinners. Ristorante Casanova serves typical Italian food while the other restaurants serve a variety of other cuisines like Japanese, international, Caribbean and Mediterranean food. There are a few good bars and pubs in the resort which serve a good wine list along with a variety of cocktails. The cafes serve light lunch dishes and appetizers.

One of the best things about the Sandals resort is that it provides plenty of good facilities and amenities to the guests. Apart from the beautiful rooms and the number of dining options the resort has an excellent spa which provides plenty of good massages. There are 6 whirlpools and 7 swimming pools in the resort along with misty waterfalls throughout the resort. Nightly entertainment activities like live bands, performances, talent shows etc are organized all through the tourist season. The resort also has a casino and a fitness center. Guests can also choose from plenty of water sport activities that are provided by the resort along with various other sports like tennis, board games, volleyball, billiards and Bocce ball.

The Sandals Bahamas review covered the main facilities and the amenities provided by the resort, although there are still many other amenities that are provided by Sandals. The resort is definitely pricey but for the amount of facilities that it provides, it is definitely worth it.

Luxury Vacations - Kingsbarns Golf Course in Fife, Scotland

Although St Andrews is the Home of Golf and has the Old Course which is one of these lifetime goals for all golfers there are a number of golf course gems in St Andrews and the surrounding areas. One of these gems is Kingsbarns, situated 7 miles outside of St Andrews itself. Anyone considering a luxury golf vacation to Scotland should ensure that Kingsbarns is on their list of courses to play.

Golf has been played at Kingsbarns since the 18th century, however the course and clubhouse as it stands today was built in the early 21st century. On arrival at Kingsbarns you are met by the concierge for the course who will explain to you the facilities and show you where everything is located. He will also confirm arrangements for your round. The clubhouse at Kingsbarns is only open to golfers playing the course, so you do not have to worry about overcrowded clubhouses here.

As is expected for such a high quality course there is a full driving range available so that you can warm up prior to your round. In the clubhouse there are excellent facilities and a fully stocked Golf Professional shop.

At the beginning of the round you need to report to the starter for the course who will ensure that you have everything in place for the round, score cards, course guide etc. When he tells you to stay to the left on the first hole, stay to to the left. The first hole is a slight dogleg right, however from the tee it looks like you can shorten the hole by going down the right. Bad mistake, going right closes (and I do mean closes) your approach shot to the green, staying left opens up your approach shot to the green. Always listen to the locals.

I will not go through the course hole by hole, however let me say that this is a magnificent test of golf, and if your golf is not going all that well then just relax and enjoy what I think are the most spectacular views available on any golf course. The course is built on the coastline of Fife, so you have the views out over the North Sea, views all along the coastline and views inland as well.

The golf is testing, very testing. I play off 15 and believe me this course is difficult. However as difficult as it may be it will draw you back time and again to enjoy the challenge. The most memorable holes, well for me the two holes that I will always remember are the par 5 12th and the short par 3 at the 15th. The par 5 12th meanders along the coast, stray to the left and you are on the beach. This is a real / risk reward hole. The green is massive, however if the pin is on the left hand side of the green then you have two options. Go for the flag, to do this you need to go over the beach and the sea with the opportunity to drown your ball. The easy shot is to stay to the right of the fairway and approach the right hand side of the green, however your putting had better be top drawer as the chances are you have left yourself a very long putt and a good opportunity to add an additional unwanted shot to your score.

The 15th is a gorgeous par 3, again with the opportunity to put your ball into the sea. The hole from the Championship tee measures 201 yards, for regular golfers the hole is 151 yards tee to green. If the tee is well to the right then to go for the flag you will need to head out over the sea or aim to the left of the green and leave yourself a difficult putt. With an offshore wind this is a treacherous par 3.

The course has an interesting finishing hole. The 18th is a par 4 measuring 383 yards from regular tee to green. The approach shot straight to the green needs to be long as any short shots will be swallowed by the small burn. The first time I visited Kingsbarns I was watching the caddies coming up the 18th with their visitors. I could not understand what was happening. The visitors were playing well to the right of the green and then they are left with a chip up on to the green. This method takes the burn out of play. Again I should have taken heed of this. The twice I played the course last year I visited the burn on the 18 on both occasions. I never seem to learn.

Anyway now that you played one of the most challenging and majestic golf courses retire to the bar and enter that famous golf discussion....how I should have gone around in 10 shots less. Enjoy the Clubhouse and the cordiality and you can start planning your next trip to Kingsbarns.

Cologne Germany (Köln) is the oldest so the first German city. When it became city in 50 A.D., it bore the name Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium (CCAA) because of the Roman Empress Agrippina.

Cologne is catholic and had a bishop as early as 313. In 785, it became the seat of an archbishop. The Archbishop of Cologne was one of the seven Electors of the Holy Roman Empire. He ruled a large area as a secular lord in the Middle Ages, but in 1288, he was defeated by the Cologne citizens and forced to move to Bonn.

Cologne Germany was a member of the Hanseatic League. It became a free city officially by 1475, but lost its free status and regained its archbishopric during the French period. In 1815, at the Congress of Vienna, it became part of the Prussian kingdom.

During the 19th and 20th century, Cologne incorporated numerous surrounding towns, so that it had a population of 600,000 inhabitants by the time of World War 1.

After an extremely long and cold winter the temperature jumped deep down. The Rhine river had frozen over and the thaw as well as the breaking open ice provided firmly for a record water level of 13,55 m. That was ten meters above the normal level!

The tides, on which heavy ice floes floated, devastated far parts of the development of the banks and all ships. 65 people died. The district Mülheim on the right Rhine side was completely destroyed.

In more recent time, a flood protection concept plans the establishment of sheet pile walls. That should protect old town up to a level of 10 meters against inundations. Still, old town consists of a magnet for floods.

Despite of this, Cologne is well-known as the Fun City of all German cities. You go into a tavern and do not know anybody, and you go out with a lot of friends. It's very easy to come in contact with Cologne people. In February, during Cologne Carnival, the whole Rhine land celebrates for at least six days -- with tons of sweets and kisses.
